THORNGATE SHORT MAT BOWLING CLUB

The Short Mat Bowling Club has been established for 26 years and is the only Club of its type to play all year round. Members play on five indoor mats. The Club has a varied and active social calendar which is always well supported by its members.
Enquiries from prospective new members over the age of 18 are always welcomed.

The club is affiliated with the Gosport Community Association and the National Association of Flower Arranging Societies (both Registered Charities) and is open to all those interested in the art of flower arranging.
New or experienced members can take part in a varied and interesting program including practice meetings, workshops, and an annual show in the Thorngate Theatre. Visits by demonstrators are enjoyed throughout the year as well as social events.

The Solent Art Club is a friendly group of mixed ages and abilities who meet to enjoy a quiet couple of hours of painting in watercolour, pastel, acrylic, and oil. We tender constructive advice to each other were requested and enjoy a chat over a cup of tea and biscuits. The Club welcomes anyone interested in drawing or painting of any age or any ability to attend and see if they would like to join.

The Thorngate Singers are an established singing group, affiliated with the Gosport Community Association. The Gosport and District Organ Club meets once a month in the Thorngate Ballroom. As well as normal club meetings, we hold occasional Sunday concerts in association with the Theatre Organ Club of GB. If you are interested in playing or hearing these instruments, then please join the Group at their Meetings – everybody will be made most welcome.

GOSPORT U3A (University of the Third Age)

The Gosport U3A is part of a National Organisation, the Third Age Trust. They have over 300 members who between them run groups that include art, music, literature, crafts, languages, scrabble, walking, days out, theatre visits, and luncheon clubs.

The “Panto Club” was formed in 1960, and puts on an annual pantomime, variety shows, and Christmas Cabaret. A friendly group, who work hard to put on good shows.
